Questions & Answers 

 

April 02 - April 29  /   2018 

 

In the first week of phase 3, each class comes up with a good question

about Children's Rights for the other participants in the Circle.

In the next weeks, you'll divide your class into smaller groups

that each chooses a question to answer.

 

We ask all participants to organize meeting two other groups via Skype,

to get in touch and discuss your answers. 

 

 

 

 

 

 'Think of a good question and discuss the answers'. 

 

 

You now know a lot more about Children's Rights. 

 

You heard and read stories, did some research and posted your contributions.

Now it's time to think about a good question for the other groups.

 

 

The best way to answer all questions is to divide your class into groups. Each group chooses a question and tries to answer it as well as possible.

 

 

Good questions are:

 

 

  • Open but with direction - Open questions cannot be answered by a yes or no. However, at the same time, they have a clear direction.

 
  • Guiding without prescribing

    Example of a guided Q: How can we actively care for …?

    Example of a prescribed Q:  Don’t you think we should …?)

 

  • Inviting the group - to explore, discover, organize, postulate, and process.

  • Inviting to experiment with ideas - Open-ended questions have many possible answers, that require research. So the answer can't be found directly on Google.

  • Purposeful - The question invites the group to participate. Four steps usually happen in this order:

    What do we need to study and why?

    What does it say?

    What does it mean?

    What do we do?

  • Examples:

"What would happen if ..."

"What do you think of ...?"

"Did you ever wonder ...?"

"What should we try...?"

"How many ways could you ...?" 

"How can we actively care for...?"

"How can we actively contribute to...?"

"How can we actively improve...?"


 

 

 


Step 1:

 

In the first week, from April 2 - 9: 
Your class comes up with a good question about Children's Rights for your global classmates.
You can post your question on this page.

Keep in mind that your peers should be able to answer your question in two weeks time.

 

 

Step 2: 

 

April 9: You are now able to see all the questions that all classes came up with.

Now it's time to divide your class into smaller groups.

 

Each group selects a question they like and tries to answer it as well as possible.

Posting your answer is very easy: just click on the question and you are directed to the page where all groups will post their answers on that specific question.


We encourage diversity, so your answer can be a text, a poem, a rap, a research outcome, or any other way that is interesting to your friends in the Circle!

 

 

 

 

 

Skype

 


 

Based on the feedback on last years' Circle, we have created a schedule for all schools to meet via Skype. This will enable you to get in touch and discuss your work with your peers.

 

In April each group or class will organize a video conference with at least 2 other classes. Of course, you can also start in February or March if you want to. Exciting and fun!
